Almeria: Pre-season (S2)
Hello everyone, welcome back to my Almeria Story. I really do hope you enjoyed my Olympic Games special, I know it was a side track from the main story but regardless it was a bit of fun and the competition is full of surprises and also provides an insight to hot prospects which I hope I can have in my team in the future (fingers crossed).
With season 1 and the Olympics out of the way, I had to prepare for the up coming season in the Liga, I needed to strengthen my squad and get rid of players which were below my standards. To do this I needed a bit of money from the board. When the season expectations came along I felt adventurous so I went for a mid-table finish.
Achieving that goal will be hard, liga is full of many great players and clubs many of them fighting for the top 4, with that in mind I needed players which can tough it out and had experience in top flight football, lets have a look.
Paolo Castellini an Italian LB, whom has great fitness and experience.
Michael Owen a well known premier league striker, who will act in as a rotational player, hoping to bring him on as a superb sub.
Jeremie Janot an experienced Goal Keeper who I hope provides the security at the back.
Darren Gibson, yes I know another Manester United drop out but he has comforting stats especially as we need another DLP and he fits the bill perfectly and I know with time he can develop into a key player for us.
The last player I signed was a fantastic young striker called Carlos Fierro, who I know has a wonderful future at my club.
Overall costing me £5 Mill, which incidentally was all due to Carlos Fierro the rest were free transfers.
Based on the next level I was taking with the club I needed to secure our fiances and get rid of some players so I did.
However I do plan on signing a couple more players during the january transfer market but that will count on how well I do in the league.
Lasting for this post, are the friendly fixture, however,I only managed to organise two matches. It would seem I forgot to organise any especially with the Olympic going on. Neither the less we did play two English sides, Stoke and Manester united but we lost both games. Not the best of starts I have to admit, lets just hope that changes when the season comes or we are going to have a rough ride.
That is it for me today, I hope you enjoyed the post, make sure to leave a comment and have a nice day.

The Olympic Games Special
Hello everyone, welcome back to my Almeria story, however if you read my last post and the title to this one you might know that is post is about my journey in the Olympic games as the Great Britain u23s manager.
With the Olympic games only months away I needed to make sure all was perfect so I had the best changes of winning and getting myself a gold :P. I made sure my squad was made up of the best players I was able to get my hands on and 3 over 23s which I was officially aloud.
With all this in mind lets have a look at the players I was taking to the games!
As you can see not many players outside of England, well to be brutally honest the English players are better and I really want that gold soo...
My 3 over 23s player were Joe Hart, Michael Dawson and Wayne Rooney.
I needed a good goalie and a strong athletic Defend due to the attacking force which were in the competition e.g Neymar, Pato, Calvani, Doumbia and many more.
The Olympic games finally came and we were put in group B with Japan, Ghana and Uruguay. In which we won 2 and of 3, drawing against Japan 1 - 1 in the finally group game.
After coming top in the group stage we we then matched against Costa Rica who placed 2nd in group.
However good news aside, Wayne Rooney will miss the rest of the competition due to a straight red which results in a 3 match ban.
Cracking result, great performances from the lads, especially Sturridge, grabbing 2 goals for the team. Annoyling Albrighton was injured during the game and will miss the semi finals but will be back for the final if we make it that far. So with the Quarter's out of the way we now venture off to the semi's against underdogs of the competition Switzerland.
It was an okay performance, even though we won 2 - 0 Switzerland played very well, applying pressure throughout the match and we only managed to score in the 1st half due to a couple of easy mistakes by Switzerland, so overall they were a strong adversary and Im proud we made it in the final against the big boys BRAZIL!
As you can see we destroyed them. What a quality game 4 - 1 against a strong, skillful Brazil side. But my boys were on fire. Our attacking plays was fantastic really showing great movement of the ball and strong defending breaking down Brazilian attack quickly, it was honestly one of the best finally I have ever been involved in.
Thats it is from me for this post, after the brilliant championship win, I promptly resigned from the role and now focusing on the season ahead with Almeria, Thank you so much for reading and have a nice day.

Almeria: Season one
Hello everyone, welcome back to my third post for my Almeria story. Last time we spoke about the preseason which included the formation and signing. Anyway lets begin.
We begin the start of the season very well and our performance carried on throughout all the way to December. Only losing one game (which we shouldn't of).
During the January transfer window I brought in Nelson Rivas an ex Inter Milan DC to help at the back.
The second half of the season was also very good, even though we didn't win as much of the games we still played very well. Getting a great League cup win against At. Madrid which put us into the league cup Qtr finals against Villarel but unfortunately our league cup campaign came to an end after a 1-3 loss in the 2nd leg.
Neither the less it was a impressive journey. However as the season came to the close my boys were becoming tired so we did let up in games causing us to lose a couple but neither the less we were champions!!!!!!
Our league results were quite impressive and it was a good journey resulting in hitting 100 points :)
The league player stats were also very good :)
I honestly believe that Armenteros was the key reason done so well, the amount of assist he brought to the table was incredible, especially as Itamar was out for a while so quite a large amount of goals were from set pieces.
With the league at an end it was time to look at the future so I quickly signed a contract extension.
Shortly after the Great Britain U23s were looking for a manager for the up coming Olympics, I promptly applied for the job and a week later Fabio offered me the job.
That is it for this post. With season 1 out of the way we can now look at the future. The next post will be the Olympic games special which hopefully will be something different and a bit of fun. A gold medal would be cool :).
So until next time, have a nice day :).

Almeria: Pre-season (S1)
Hello ladies and gentleman, welcome back to my second post for my new Almeria story.
Last post was merely myself explaining my intentions and my past in playing this game and then finally unveiling the team I will be playing with. With all that out of the way, why don't we get cracking.
Almeria is a spanish club currently playing in Liga adelante after being relegated from the top league last season.
After analyzing the squad, it was time to look at the season expectations.
I have chosen that I will win the league for 2 reasons, it puts pressure on me to perform and secondly to gets some players in especially on the left wing and up front which I feel we are the weakest at.
With that in mind I promptly brought in Argentine AML Emlilano Armentros from Rayo and Brazilian ST Itamar on a free transfer.
Hopefully both player can provide that cutting edge Im looking for.
With the transfers out of the way lets look at the tactic and formation I shall be using this season.
I have used the player instructions to best fit the players I want to use. So lets hope it pays off when the season comes.
Finally with all the preparations out of the way, we can now look at the friendlies and see how we did.
2 draws and 3 wins with quite a few goals, not too bad, lets just hope it works in the season.
Anyway, that is it for this post, hope it was interesting read, until next time, have a nice day.

Almeria: My Journey Begins!
Hello ladies and gentleman, I am Patrick Elliott and welcome to my first ever football manager official blog. As a Football manager fanatic I thought it was time I shared my stories for everyone to enjoy (i hope). I have been playing FM for about 4 years spending many hours trying to figure out the game and trying my best to get my hands on some silverware with all kinds of teams. Even though I have spent large amounts of time on this game doesn't quite mean I won that much, honestly it was only when 2012 came out I began winning on a european level, winning the treble with FCP and CSKA Moscow which I am extremely proud of :D. Prior to 2012 I wasn't all that great trust me. I do believe that the highest I ever achieved silver ware wise was winning the premiership with Everton (when Yakubu was in his prime). Now that I have a grasp on the game its time I shared my experience's via blogging.
So without further adue the team I will be managing is............ U.D Almeria
